My Story-From Fitness to Whole-Body Wellness

For nearly 40 years, health and fitness have been more than my career. They've been my passion, my purpose, and a way of life.

I began teaching group fitness classes at just 17 years old. Over the years, my journey took me from teaching fitness and personal training to membership sales, fitness management, and eventually becoming a Healthy Living Director for the YMCA.

Through it all, one thing never changed: my love for helping people feel stronger, healthier, and more confident in themselves.

I believed deeply in the power of movement, healthy habits, and a positive mindset. And I still do.

But life eventually taught me that being physically healthy and feeling truly well on the inside are not always the same thing.

When Life Changed Everything

After decades of teaching others how to take care of themselves, I found myself navigating one of the most difficult seasons of my own life.

For three years, I was deeply involved in caring for my mother as she battled Alzheimer's disease. Watching someone you love slowly slip away is an experience that's difficult to put into words.

During that same chapter, my marriage was coming to an end.

Within a single month, I experienced both the loss of my mother and my divorce.

The grief, emotional exhaustion, and uncertainty were overwhelming.

I had spent my entire adult life practicing what I taught: exercising, eating well, staying active, and doing my best to maintain a healthy mindset.

But this time, those things weren't enough.

My body was carrying stress that I couldn't simply exercise away. I felt constantly overwhelmed, and for the first time, I truly understood what it meant to have a nervous system that didn't know how to settle.

Discovering the Missing Piece

That's when I discovered breathwork.

At first, I was simply looking for a way to feel calm again. I needed something that would help me slow down, reconnect with myself, and feel safe and grounded in my own body.

What I discovered became so much more.

Through breathwork, I began to experience a kind of calm that had been missing from my life. I also started recognizing emotional patterns and beliefs I had carried since childhood.

Growing up, life often felt unpredictable, like riding a roller coaster. I didn't always experience the sense of emotional safety and stability that we all need.

Over time, I began to recognize how those early experiences had shaped my relationships, my reactions, and the way I moved through the world.

Breathwork became an important part of helping me slow down, explore those patterns, and begin letting go of beliefs and responses that were no longer serving me.

I realized that I'd spent much of my life learning how to strengthen my body, but I was only beginning to learn how to truly feel at peace within it.

And that changed the way I saw wellness.

A New Meaning of Healthy Living

Today, at 57, I still believe wholeheartedly in the importance of physical fitness, strength, flexibility, nutrition, and living an active life.

Those foundations matter, and they always will.

But now I know that wellness is also about how we feel on the inside.

It's about learning to slow down. Finding moments of calm. Creating healthy boundaries. Becoming more aware of our patterns. Connecting with ourselves and the people we love.

And recognizing that sometimes, the healthiest thing we can do is stop pushing so hard and simply breathe.

My approach to wellness has evolved to bring together everything I've learned throughout my career with what life has taught me personally.

Movement. Strength. Breathwork. Mindfulness. Sound. Connection.

And simple, sustainable habits that support a healthier, more balanced life.

Why I Do What I Do

My mission today is to help others experience what I've come to understand:

True wellness is about more than how strong your body is. It's also about how you feel living inside it.

You don't have to wait until life becomes overwhelming to begin taking care of yourself in a deeper way.

And you don't need a perfect life, a perfect body, or a perfect routine to feel healthy.

My hope is to help people feel stronger, calmer, more connected, and more confident in their ability to navigate life—whatever season they're in.

Because after nearly 40 years in this industry, I've learned that healthy living isn't just about adding more years to your life.

It's about bringing more life, peace, and joy into the years you have.

Live Well. Breathe Deeply.
